Dana's Story
Dana’s attraction to Permaculture first began with a nagging sense that all is not right with the world and a need to be part of a solution rather than a problem. In looking closer at her neighborhood and property a desire grew to break the typical expanse of lawn that is prominent on her street and yard. She knew there was a reason something didn’t feel right about having it; Permaculture helped her understand that lawn is a non-sustainable urban monoculture and she needed change.
About Dana's Project
Dana used her Online PDC to re-design her inner city lot in the community of Wildwood, Calgary. She incorporated rain water catchment and storage, food forestry, and a design for hens for whenever the City of Calgary lifts their bylaw on backyard chickens.
