At many points in my career I’ve received advice from Rob that was well beyond the scope of the workshops I was attending. This often took the form of 10-20 minute coaching calls, and in these phone calls alone, I could easily value Rob’s advice in the $10K to $20K range, especially for his advice on things related to business/ personal development, design, engineering, and water management. Yet in many ways, this would still be an undervaluing of Rob’s help… I find it impossible to place an appropriate dollar value on something that to me is truly invaluable. I would not be at nearly the same point in my career, nor would I be the same person, if it weren’t for Rob’s influence in my business and life. Actually, it’s hard for me to imagine what my life might look like had I not gotten the significant boost early on that I did in my coaching relationship with Rob! I would highly recommend him as a mentor; he has an immense breadth and depth of knowledge to offer, and an incredibly well rounded yet laser-sharp perspective that provides invaluable insight - plus he has the “fruit on the tree” - continuing to demonstrate success (at least according to my definition) in all areas of life.
Peaked your curiosity? Read on for some background on why I developed this program, why you might want to join and what you’ll get out of it.
First off, a bit about me.
I’m Rob Avis. I’m an engineer and ecologist. I’m the co-founder of Verge Permaculture, an award-winning and internationally recognized education company. I’ve taught thousands of students and have nearly 600 alumni who have completed my Permaculture Design Certification program.
My consulting firm, Adaptive Habitat, is a unique and leading edge property design and management company. I’ve been involved in and provided advisorship to over 50 consultancy projects (as large as $1M+) combining permaculture principles, building science and appropriate technology (solar, wind, combined heat & power), as well as rainwater harvesting, agro-ecology, ecosystem engineering, soil regeneration and wastewater treatment.
IS YOUR SUCCESS -
ESPECIALLY OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
I rate my success as a permaculture teacher by the number of successful projects created by my students (and mentees).
So five years ago, I started arranging individual sessions with former students, answering their questions and helping them devise a solid plan for project success…
It started with me coaching two to three students per year. Then more…
Before I Knew It, I Started Witnessing Incredible Results & Receiving Positive Feedback:
Rob Avis has not only been an inspiration to me in my business since the day I met him, he helped support me through the first broadacre design I undertook as a professional. Knowing I had his expertise to draw on gave the client the confidence to hire me for the job. Rob coached me through the design and placement of a dam which would have been beyond my scope of practice had I not had his support. That job has earned me $15,000 to date and is still ongoing. This has since led to many other broadacre designs. Knowing I have Rob's knowledge and experience to draw on should I need it reassures me that I can provide the best for my clients.
I can confidently say that every $100 I have put into Rob's mentoring or courses has led to a $10,000 out in either profit, quality of life, or time saved. His ability to pinpoint the opportunities in the market and recognize how my specific business and skills can seamlessly grow or transition to meet those needs is something I can't see while I am head down working. Whether it is workplace efficiency, knowing when to get out of a business that is not working, or who and when to hire and grow, his knowledge has been invaluable. Often times people start a business and try to go it alone and shoestring it, but the money invested in quality mentoring services will pay for itself in the first month and I cannot recommend anyone more highly. Thanks to Rob, I set my own hours, do what I love on my terms, and make what I need to live my dream... and it never needed to be complicated.
But there was a problem...
There were over 500 permaculture design grads through my own program and thousands more graduating from worldwide programs offered by other instructors each year!
With my own busy teaching, consulting and family life, I found myself having to turn away more and more mentorship requests.
Although Discouraged By this, I Recently Had An Epiphany…
Then, in the Spring of 2017, I was invited to participate in on online webinar, hosted by a third party, as a guest teacher.
I was thrilled and impressed that over 130 students video conferenced in.
The video conferencing technology used was incredible and I was able to give a presentation, but most importantly, very easily answer 20+ questions, while video streaming, sharing my computer screen and pulling up plans, drawings and resources to aid in answering whatever question was thrown my way.
Students left totally impressed & I left that session with a new insight and idea!
Since then we’ve been busy! We’ve investigated and invested into the webinar conferencing, set up the back-end technical requirements to pull this off and established a framework for the program (including inviting and confirming our excellent line-up of guest speakers).
And now we are thrilled to introduce our latest program to you!
THE PERMACULTURE PRO WEBINAR SERIES!
- Eight 1.5-hour webinars, held over the course of two months
- Themed sessions combined with open Q&A (ask me any question you’d like!)
- Expert guest interviews (see the incredible lineup on the Special Guests tab for the session date)
- Unlimited, unexpiring access to a recording of every webinar
- Access to a private Facebook group
So I Encourage You To Ask Yourself:
- What if you could ask me your most important questions on a semi-regular basis?
- What if you could reach out to some of my favourite authors and other experts and ask them any question you’d like?
- Would you love to be surrounded by like-minded individuals that you can connect with and learn from to help grow your project or consultancy?
- How would you like to check in twice a month with me to keep track of your progress to ensure your project’s success?
- Wouldn’t it put you at ease to know that you can now get nearly any permaculture-related information you need to complete your project successfully within a fraction of the time and stress?
I certainly think so!
Here’s the thing.
Those of you that know me (or perhaps that have sat through my 72 hour PDC) know of my knowledge and experience is incredibly vast…
I’m good at solving problems (and how to think about solving problems) and there are very few permaculture-related questions that completely stump me. Most often it is something I’ve done, seen before, read about or have an opinion on.
And if I don’t know the answer directly, I’ll almost certainly know of the people or resources you’ll need to reach out to. I can point you in the right direction.
WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS?
If you’re wondering what kind of questions I’ll answer in my webinars, below are just a few of questions I’ve answered in past mentorship relationships.
How do I set swales up in my yard or for my client?
How do I design a spillway for a pond?
How do I know where to place my house on my property?
How do I use a drone to survey property?
What are the key things I should be thinking of when harvesting water?
How do I harvest water from a roof and drink it?
How do I set up a solar thermal system to heat my hot water?
What are the key things I need to think about for a renewable energy system?
What wind turbines, if any do you recommend?
How can I store attic heat from the summer underground for winter use?
How do I set up a successful food forest?
When do I chop and drop the food forest?
How should I design a passive solar greenhouse?
How do make compost tea?
How do I make a compost tea brewer?
What should I do first to solve this particular problem?
How do I turn my basement into an underground greenhouse?
Should I go off-grid?
What do you think about Earthships?
What type of insulation should I use for my root cellar?
How should I set up my livestock system?
How can I do greywater legally?
These are all real questions folks have asked and I have answered!

How I Decided On The Program Fee
About the cost and pricing for this program…
As I pondered how to structure the pricing I considered how, over the years, I’ve personally hired permaculture, engineering and other professionals and consultants to help me on my personal and professional projects.
I have quite easily paid upwards of $400 simply to get a single question answered.
One tenth of that = $40
I then asked myself if it would be reasonable to charge participants $40/hour (or $60 for a 1.5 hour session), and I considered the following:
- Prior to this program, the only technical mentorship that I’ve offered to students is on a very limited, one-on-one basis, for $150/hour.
- I am also absolutely confident that I will answer a plethora of questions and there will most certainly be at least one valuable answer and/or one brilliant nugget per hour, for your particular circumstance.
- This is incredibly reasonable and great value for direct access to the calibre of guests and professionals who are participating in this program.
THINK ABOUT IT THIS WAY:
$40 / hour
But the excellent value doesn’t end there.
You’ll also have unlimited access to the webinars and be able to view them as many times as you’d like.
In addition, we’ll connect you with the other like-minded participants through a private Facebook group should you like to continue networking and supporting each other’s projects.
And Here’s the best news.
I’ll also offer a refund policy. If, after the first phone call, if you are not fully convinced of the value that I can provide to you, your project and or your business, I will offer you a full refund.
AND EVEN BETTER NEWS…
Our early bird pricing will give you another $80 discount on the program.
