Online PDC Final Design Project – Vera McDonald

 In

Vera used her own property, 22 acres of climax boreal forest, but focused on the cleared property area around the house (approximately 2 acres – zones 1 and 2). This included water systems, food forests, chickens, rain water harvesting, rabbits, vegetable gardens, composting, a solar hot water system, a future orchard within the existing mature forest, and a future attached 4-season greenhouse. Their overall goal is to be self-sufficient, debt-free and more resilient. They live in NW Ontario, zone 3.
