Nola and Brendan teamed up to apply permaculture design principles to the next generation development of the Marion farm, ‘Maple Forest Farms’, by utilizing regenerative practices that restore natural resources, build biodiversity, create food security and build sustainable, resilient communities. The permaculture guiding principles and core ethics (earth care, people care and future care) will be the touchstones for the regeneration of this agricultural property where ecological systems are respected as living systems to which patterns of production and habitation will adapt. The hope is to create a renewed ‘sense of place’ that will model and teach about regenerative agricultural and habitation practices. Ultimately, the main goal is to protect and enhance, for future generations, what is naturally on the land through regenerative management practices.
