Jan 31st – Cabin Fever!

 

Cabin Fever 2015, is the second annual event to promote awareness of permaculture, build community capacities, attract new members and raise funds to support the Permaculture Calgary Guild. Come shake off the winter blues with informative workshops, delicious food, local music, and friends new and old!

Workshops include: Gardening for Bees, Integrated Urban Farming, Designing an Off-Grid Homestead, Introduction to Food Forests, and much more! (Daytime admission: $5 for members, $10 for not-yet-members, kids under 12 free!)

The party includes: beverages, pizza by the slice, booty-shaking and silent auction. Live music by Justine Tyrell & Taylor Cullen, Ta Pocketa Pocketa, and Jed Fraysen! (Evening admission: $20 for members, $25 for not-yet-members)

Feb 7th – Introduction to Permaculture

 

We’ve designed this six hour course to provide you with the tools to turn your home into the greenest home on the block – all the while saving money and making a super healthy, beautiful and inspiring environment for family, friends and community! Feb 28th-May 10th – Permaculture Design Certificate (Spring Weekends – Calgary)

 

Stop dreaming of a job that makes a difference…and take action! Build a profitable career that goes beyond sustainability to heal the land and rebuild local economies. Our Permaculture Design Certificate meets the international standards for permaculture certification, but goes way beyond the 72 hours of classroom time to prepare students for careers and livelihoods in the field.

With its sheer depth and range of topics, the program’s appreciating value, its unique and pioneering structure, our three levels of engagement to fit your schedule, budget, and business vision, – and, last but not least, our track record of graduates’ successful businesses – this course will give you new hope and a new vision, the technical and business foundations to build it on, and the community-building skills to support it.

The course takes place over 6 weekends, spaced 2 weeks apart starting Feb 28th and ending May 10th. It runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on each of the 12 days.

May 30th-31st – Consultancy Practicum

 

Your PDC was the first step in your permaculture journey… But what’s next? If you’re looking for the opportunity to get your feet wet and practice what you learned in your PDC – this is it! Join us for this rare chance to develop your consulting skills on a live client site, under the instruction of internationally-recognized permaculture design consultant Rob Avis.
